  • Transportation service is available 7 days a week, including holidays, from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
  • Travel to medical facilities outside the regular service hours (7:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.) is allowed only when special circumstances apply, such as fixed dialysis appointments.
  • A one-day advance reservation is required for all trips beginning or ending outside of Diamond Bar city limits.

  • The fare for trips anywhere within city limits is $.50 ($1 round-trip).
  • The fare for trips within the medical Facilities Service Area #3 is $1.50 ($3.00 round-trip).
  • The fare for trips to facilities outside the boundary is $1.50 to the medical facilities** boundary, plus a flat rate fee of $2.50 per additional mile.
  • Participants are able to make up to eight (8) one-way trips per month to malls outside Diamond Bar but within the service area #2. Trip fare is $3.00 ($6.00 round-trip).
  • Participants departing for or arriving from a trip can take advantage of six (6) one-way trips per year to the Fullerton Amtrak Station and the Ontario Airport for participants for the low fare of $10 per trip.

  • Requesting specific drivers when reserving a trip is not allowed.
  • Participants must have valid Diamond Ride ID Card when traveling.
  • Participants are able to travel with a companion or guest, at no additional charge.
  • Participants are encouraged to share rides; it saves trips, money, and allows more individuals to take advantage of the service.(Example: If you and two of your friends are going shopping or to a restaurant, it counts as only one trip and you pay only one regular fare. At least two must be card holders with third riding as companion.)
  • If the cab does not arrive within 40 minutes of scheduled trip, the ride is free. During peak travel times (8-10am & 4-6pm) it is best to call in advance for a same-day reservation. Riders may call up to 2 hours in advance to schedule pick ups. Advance scheduling is also available for special needs requests (wheelchair-accessible cabs).

Diamond Ride will be operating under modified guidelines, effective December 1, 2014. Following are the areas of the program that will change:

  • Same-day reservations may be made for all trips – Participants will no longer be required to make trip reservations 24 hours in advance. Same day reservations will be available for all trips.
  • New service area boundaries – The three current service area boundaries have been realigned and will now consist of two modified service areas, as follows.
    • Service Area 1: All trips within Diamond Bar City limits.
    • Service Area 2: Trips to medical facilities within an approximately 5 mile radius beyond city limits bounded by the San Bernardino Freeway (10) to the north, Ramona Avenue/Mills Avenue to the east, Imperial Highway/Carbon Canyon Road to the south, and Azusa Avenue to the west. This service area extends coverage for trips to Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center and St. Jude Hospital/Medical Center in Fullerton.
  • Subsidy for all non-medical travel outside city limits eliminated - Travel to shopping destinations outside of city limits or a medical facility located beyond Service Area 2 boundaries will continue to be allowed but without program subsidy. For non-medical trips outside the City, participants will be charged a fare of $0.50 until reaching city limits, at which point the fare will convert to the standard per mile rate of $2.50 for all remaining travel. For medical trips beyond Service Area 2 boundaries, participants will be charged a fare of $1.50 until reaching the Service Area 2 border, at which point the fare will convert to the standard per mile rate of $2.50 for all remaining travel.
